Login reminder popup remover (developement ceased - not up to date)

Removes the nagging login popups and banners from mobile and desktop versions of Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, Twitter, Quora, VK, Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitch and from the mobile versions of Youtube and TikTok.

These are all versions of this script. Show only the versions where the code changed.

  • v2.3.42022-01-11

[FIXED]: Twitter: scroll bar disappearing with no reason, solved with the help of Paul Wynters
[FIXED]: Reddit: missing NSFW pictures and videos in mobile mode are now visible again. By default, pictures will be blurred when browsing the subreddit, but will be clear when opening the post.

  • v2.3.32021-12-18

[ADDED] Reddit: removed the annoying banner that prevented the access to nsfw content pretending that using the app to browse was more anonymous than using the browser's incognito mode. Now you can access all the nsfw threads without being blocked by those stupid alerts.

  • v2.3.22021-12-09

[ADDED] Instagram: I've added a note beneath the loader wheel: if the page gets stuck and won't load the next posts, it will suggest you other Instagram viewing services that will allow you to continue browsing the profile.

  • v2.3.12021-12-08

[BUGFIX] Reddit: further fixes for blocking popups.
[ADDED] Reddit: Removal of sponsored posts (mobile).

  • v2.3.02021-12-06

[BUGFIX] Reddit: restored functionality on mobile site
[ADDED] Instagram: if the temporary IP ban leaves you with half loaded pages, a note at the end of the page will suggest you other ways to see the Instagram profile you're trying to browse.
[ADDED] Added an option for the userscript manager to disable the script for each site individually.

  • v2.2.02021-11-09

    [BUGFIX] Ask.fm: restored functionality
[ADDED] Reddit: removed the box begging for login on the bottom right

  • v2.1.92021-10-29

  • v2.1.82021-10-26

[BUGFIX] VKontakte: fix for the mobile version of VK not loading the script. Now popups are correctly deleted when they appear.

[BUGFIX] Instagram: useful popups (ex: list of tagged users in a post) are now displayed correctly, while login popups and suggestions to use tha Instagram app remain hidden.
[BUGFIX] Instagram: the small video button in IGTV videos is now displayed correctly above the video control bar.

  • v2.1.62021-10-11

[BUG FIX] Instagram: restored useful popups (tagged, share, etc), leaving the annoying login popup still hidden.

Fix for carousel/video/reel icons not displayed on top right corner of Instagram posts.

  • v2.1.22021-09-23

This version doesn't have any user facing change, but I've rewritten some parts of the script that relied on direct injection of HTML code in the page; while HTML injection is very practical and easy to write, some sites and some browsers enforce the Trusted Type policy to avoid XSS attacks, thus blocking HTML injection. Now all the HTML code that was previously injected directly is added in safer ways.

  • v2.1.02021-09-10

Added Pinterest to the list of supported websites: go to pinterest.com/ideas to start browsing without annoying popups!
Fixed: Twitter scrolling doesn't get stuck anymore if you accidentally touch a "Like" or "Comment" button on mobile.
Fixed: Ask.fm scrolling issues on Chrome should now be solved.

Known bugs: weird scrollbars might appear on Pinterest when browsing with WebKit or Blink based browsers (Chrome, Safari, Opera, Edge), but you should still be able to browse the website with no problems. On Firefox, everything is fine.

  • v2.0.12021-09-08

Small fix for Twitter: script not loading when arriving on Twitter from a "Follow" button.

  • v2.0.02021-09-07

    BIG UPDATE:
*A large part of the code has been converted to CSS styling, so that it can be applied as soon as possible when the HTML code of the page is loaded. As a consequence, most of the popups won't appear and then close automatically; instead, they won't appear at all!
*Improvements for Twitter: large login popups that appear when pressing on "Like" or "Comment" buttons (and sometimes without clicking anything) are now hidden.
*Improvements for Ask.fm: scrolling should be now working as expected and posts don't expire after 1'30".

NOTE: due to the large modifications to the code, even though I've solved all the bugs I could find, there could be some left. Please report them and I will do the possible to fix them.

  • v1.9.7.12021-08-29

Reverted changed introduced in v1.9.7, that broke the hamburger menus in Twitter.

  • v1.9.72021-08-28

    Twitter fix

  • v1.9.62021-07-21

Fixed a typing error in code that prevented IGTV videos from being clicked on desktop.

  • v1.9.42021-07-06

  • v1.9.22021-06-07
  • v1.9.22021-06-07
  • v1.9.22021-06-07
  • v1.9.22021-05-25

Many fixes for Instagram:guides, are now displayed correctly.

    • It is possible to download all videos from Instagram (Right click>Save as), including those in reels and IGTV sections.
    • Trying to open the Feeds page from mobile doesn't redirect to login, but to the actual feeds page.
    • Fixed a bug that was keeping a function running in some pages even if it was not needed.

Known bugs: on desktop you have to right click the IGTV thumbnails and open them in a new tab to view the videos.

  • v1.9.12021-03-13
  • v1.9.12021-03-10

Fix for a bug introduced in v1.9.0 where media type icons were not shown in Instagram.

  • v1.9.02021-03-09

Rewritten the method for checking if the URL of a page has changed: previously it was relying on the onpopstate event, but that event is not triggered when pages use pushState() or replaceState() (you can find a better explaination here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/WindowEventHandlers/onpopstate).
Added a function for Instagram to let you watch the videos more than once without logging in. As a (wanted) side effect, it lets you use HTML5 video player controls and it also lets you download both photos and videos with a right click, as any proper HTML5 page should let you do.

  • v1.8.42021-03-02Fix and speedup for Instagram: v1.8.3 broke compatibility with Instagram (my fault), but with this new version IG pages with lots of related accounts not only work, but also load much faster than in previous versions..
  • v1.8.32021-03-01Super rough fix for Reddit mobile: it barely works, so if your screen is large enough, you'd better request the desktop version of the site.
  • v1.8.22021-02-28Quick fix for new Facebook design.
  • v1.8.12021-02-15Added support for the mobile version of VK.

  • v1.7.02021-02-15Added ask.fm support (does anyone still use it?) and improved (hopefully as I couldn't test) the speed on Instagram pages with many related accounts.
