X Timeline Sync - User Guide
This script helps you track and sync your last reading position on Twitter/X with both manual and automatic options.
Features
- Track your last reading position manually or automatically.
- Export and import reading positions as JSON files.
- Automatically load new posts without losing your current position.
- Manually start searching for your last reading position.
How to Use
- Install the script in your preferred userscript manager (e.g., Tampermonkey).
- Visit the
https://x.com/home
page. - Wait for the page to fully load, then interact with the floating buttons:
- 💾 Export Reading Position: Save your last reading position as a JSON file.
- 📂 Import Reading Position: Load a previously saved reading position.
- 🔍 Start Search: Manually locate your last saved reading position in the timeline.
- Automatic syncing will occur when new posts are detected.
Buttons Overview
- 💾 Export: Click to save your current reading position.
- 📂 Import: Click to load a previously saved position. Ensure the JSON file is valid.
- 🔍 Search: Click to manually find your last reading position.
Notes
- The script will only work on the
/home
page of Twitter/X. - The automatic search will still trigger after loading new posts.
- For manual search, ensure your last reading position is saved.
- JSON export files include timestamps and author handles to help identify the exact post.
