Counters for downloads/installs not working on new scripts

For some reason, download/install counters are not working for new scripts that I've posted. I've tested them by installing using different computers and IPs, and the counters doesn't move.

Can you post or send me one of the IPs you were at? I can look at the logging.

Can't you just check the logging without those? just check any of my scripts, the oldest ones also stopped registering installs. I don't know the ip's used; but the problem is there for all my scripts (this may be affecting everybody as well, I don't know).

You may as well install/uninstall one of the scripts to test for yourself.

I can tell you that there are script installs being recorded as you can see them in other script listings, whether showing the ones with the most installs or the newest ones. I can also tell you I have tested it and it works when I try it. There may be something specific to what you're doing, what browser/settings/extensions you use, what IP you're using, etc. that's preventing it from working for you. If I had your IP address I can check the logs to see what's happening.

Can you post a screenshot showing the 1 after you install one of the scripts that say 0? I'm still seeing 0 on all newest of my scripts even after installing/reinstalling.

BTW I'm using violentmonkey and firefox along with (disabled to test) ublock. Still strange, I would think that the counters are server-side.

I'm saying that generally I have tested it on other scripts, and it worked, and also that on the newest scripts on the site, they are being recorded.

There are various methods used to stop install count inflation. If it's not going up for you, you're probably getting caught by that. If you provide me with the IPs you've tried with, I can check the logs as to why.

Ok here is what I don't understand:

The counter is server side. You have anti-cheat (let's call it that). That would explain why self-installed scripts don't count when using ###s. It is still completely abnormal for it to fail when installing using isp-given ips.

Either you are using arbitrary things to filter (like whole geo locks, complete ### ranges and such) or there is shadowban applied to my user who-knows-why (an automatic ### detection?) and my user is flagged. I repeat, that even installing from an isp-given ip (real ip) fails to sum +1 in the counters.

If this is so complex that requires me to unmask my ip addresses I prefer to leave it as it is and let it be.

In other words, I thought that this may have been a bug but it seems it is completely intentional.

I would generally agree, but guarding against ###s is not the only thing it's doing.

It's probably not complex, but to find the specific issue you're having, I need to look in the logs for the specific IP you're using. Then I can say with certainty why it's not counting. You can private message me or email me if you don't want to make it public. I'm the admin of the site - I can already see what IP address you used to log in, but I don't see anything in the logs for that one.

I went and tried it myself on https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/528071-steam-search-hide-games-under-minimum-price and I can see the install registered (the counts are aggregated once per hour so it should show up shortly). So it's not like it's broken specifically for your scripts somehow.
