Backloggery integration with game library websites
< Feedback on Backloggery interop
For reference: it currently states on my backloggery that I only have 279 games TOTAL added, despite telling me that it imported my 2601 itch.io library. It should be way more than this...
Perhaps it just has to process them all so it'll take a while?
The purpose of this script is to enhance your interface. Your backlog is stored on the Backloggery servers – the script does not take the liberty to spam their servers with backlog entry creation requests (which could've lead to the site temporarily blocking your access, for example).
For a similar reason, it requires user click to collect data on most sites (since it's not readily available within the page), and doesn't try matching games in your backlog until they're displayed on screen.
What it does, however, is allow you to streamline adding new games. In the Backloggery "+Game" page, it shows for each platform how many games were not added to your backlog yet (e.g. itch.io (2345)
), then it helps you find the game you want to add and shows you the logo & completion info. Once you've clicked Save (or Stealth Save), it replaces the new entry in Games Added list with a clickable link – once you click it, a new tab with matching search will open and it will match the backlog entry ID with the game (…or if you've changed the title, you can select the correct match manually).
Note that if you have non-games in your to-add list you can click the trash-can icon to mark them as "excluded".
(The image below can be found in the script description. …For that matter, the very 1st paragraph of said description lists all of its functions.)

…I completely misread that somehow and missed the screenshot, I’m so sorry about that 😭
Thank you for the quick and patient response. I really do like this script, even moreso now that I know how to properly use it, I just had entirely misunderstood its use.
Script acknowledges my large library of games when it adds them (example: 2601 games from my itch.io)
However, backloggery doesn't seem to show all of them, just adds on to ones I already manually added ages ago... which defeats the purpose of importing all my games via the script, even if it states it has (it states I have 2601 itch games, but doesn't add them all to backloggery, just updates existing games).
Am I doing it wrong? Or is this just not intended to add all your game libraries to backloggery? A bit confused
