The information at the end of your post about VP9 (relating to 'image quality') is incorrect ~>
"Important Note: Without AV1, currently you can still watch videos in 2K, 4K or above quality. However, VP9, which is worse than AV1, will be used. (Lower Quality & Lower Compression)"
Yes, AV1 has 'higher compression', because it is throwing away lots of frames, & tops out around 1080p 'native'. It's similar to the nVidia 'DLSS' stuff where they have 'upsampling' & 'frame generation' (fake size & fake frames), unlike VP9 which has no such 'soap opera effect jaggy motion errors', & a more clear & natural appearance =) Again, details here ~>

AV1 having to upsample from the reduced frame size & also make fake frames in between leads to wasted CPU on top of lower quality = AV1 is a $cam.
Thanks for making this 'AV1 blocker', because AV1 is krap compared 2 VP9. Now I have a tiny script instead of needing a chrome extension wasting extra process threads on my CPU =) AV1 is a $cam = wastes CPU & looks worse than VP9, etc. Details here ~>

Newer does not mean better. Same goes for operating systems, etc. ~>
